Ysgol Bedol Olympic Day

With the Olympics fast approaching a number of schools across West Wales are holding Olympic days. This gives a chance for all the kids to try a sport that is played in the Olympics. All kids had the opportunity to work on the co-ordination and agility skills. Kids aged from 6 to 11 all had the opportunity throughout the day to come and try table tennis and it proved very popular.

Report on Dragon Tournament 24^th June 2012<br /> <br /> <div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> 40 entries were received across the age groups for this Dragon, showing that the competition is as popular as ever. To the delight of organisers many were playing a tournament for the 1^st time.</div> <br /> <div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> A “round robin” group of 4 played for the Under 9 title, spectators were treated to some great table tennis and very close matches with the runner up spot decided by 2 clear points in the deciding set. Clear winner was <span style="color: red;"><strong>Luca Caplin of Mumbles TTC</strong></span>, whilst runner up was Darian Eynon of Ael-y-Bryn.</div> <br /> <div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> The Under 11 event boasted 12 players, and again <span style="color: red;"><strong>Luca Caplin</strong></span> took the win from Cade Short of Bridgend. Bethany Brewer took 3^rd again missing out on a trophy by 2 clear points in the deciding set.</div> <br /> <div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> The Under 13s was the largest entry of the day with 23 players contesting the event. The eventual winner was Jiri Makula from Cade Short in 2^nd place. Cippenham Festival

Well done to both Lawrence John and Lydia John who competed in the Cippenham Festival. Lawrence made his way through the group and eventually losing to Ryan Williams 3-1 (no 1 seed) in the Quarter finals.
