40 entries were received across the age groups for this
Dragon, showing that the competition is as popular as ever. To the delight of
organisers many were playing a tournament for the 1st time.
A “round robin” group of 4 played for the Under 9 title,
spectators were treated to some great table tennis and very close matches with
the runner up spot decided by 2 clear points in the deciding set. Clear winner
was Luca Caplin of Mumbles TTC, whilst runner up was Darian Eynon of
Ael-y-Bryn.
The Under 11 event boasted 12 players, and again Luca Caplin
took the win from Cade Short of Bridgend. Bethany Brewer took 3rd
again missing out on a trophy by 2 clear points in the deciding set.
The Under 13s was the largest entry of the day with 23
players contesting the event. The eventual winner was Jiri Makula from Cade
Short in 2nd place. The highest finishing girl was Bethany Brewer in
6th.
