Swansea League Week One

The first matches of the new season see Carmarthen 'A' and Penlan 'A' share top spot.

Carmarthen 'A' beating Carmarthen 'B' 28-10 with Jason Peckham winning 9-0.
Penlan 'A' beat Penlan 'D' 28-12 thanks Marc Castro winning 9-1 and Tommy Heydon 9-4.
Betws Rugby Club 'A' recorded  a good victory over Penlan 'E' winning 27-15, Nigel Stopher winning 9-2 and Payman Mollai 9-5. Last years runners up Penlan 'B' also secured a winning start beating Cam Gears 'B' 25-11  with Craig Henton winning 9-3. Penyrheol 'A' beat Penlan 'C' 23-15, Denis Bromage winning 8-3 and Paul Booth 7-4. Cam Gears 'A' scored a 21-13 victory over newly promoted Tata Port Talbot 'A' thanks to Morgan Siddley winning 9-1.

In Division One Llanelli beat Cam Gears 'C' 25-15 with Alan Pattle winning 9-1 and Derek Summers 8-6. Jerusalem Baptist Church got off to a winning start by defeating Betws Rugby Club 'B' 21-14, Jeff Wood winning 9-0. Penlan 'F' beat Tata Port Talbot 'B' 25-7 with Shankley Ismail winning 9-0. Carmarthen 'C' defeated Penlan 'G' 22-12 although Tony Holt won 9-1 for the losers.


Carmarthen 'E' started their campaign in Division Two with a 24-11 victory over the youngsters of Penlan 'N', John Finnemore winning 9-2 and Rob Clayton 9-3, Tam Eastwood showing good form in drawing 6-6 for Penlan. Penyrheol 'D' beat Penlan 'M' 22-16 with Mary Wilkins leading the victory winning 9-1, Scott Holmes won 6-4 for the losers. Penyrheol 'C' are the early leaders after an easy 30-0 victory over Penlan 'R'.
