Over the summer around 50 kids from all over West Wales have made there way to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span> for the 4 hour long training sessions. Some new players and experienced players had the chance to train with each other and gain the opportunity of receiving some tips off experienced coaches from around West Wales. A big thank you goes to Dennis <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Bromage</span>, Joe Morris, Judith <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Whitton</span>, David Short, Jason <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Peckham</span>, Sharlene Williams, Dave <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Treharn</span> and Roy <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">Towell</span>. In the tournament it was clear to see the improvement in a number of the kids game. Its been a great Summer and now hopefully all the kids are ready to start the season with a bang.</div><div> </div><div>(Welsh International Harry Langley aged 10 giving Dan aged 8 from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span> some serving tips) <br /> <br />The Summer tournament was a round robin between all the players. The overall results had to go on <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">count back</span> with Marc Castro, Lawrence John and Paul Joules only losing the one match. Due to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">count back</span> the overall winner was Paul Joules of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span> Club. <br /></div>

Coach of the Year

The Annual Sport Wales Coach of the Year Awards honour the outstanding contributions made by dedicated sports coaches and volunteers throughout Wales.<br /><br />From elite level to the very grassroots, the Coach of the Year Awards recognise the very best of Welsh sport.<br /><br />Anyone can nominate their favorite coach or volunteer and there are numerous different categories to choose from.<br /><br />This year’s event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 16th November 2011, 12pm, at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.<br /><br />After an inspirational celebration of coaching and volunteering in Wales in 2010, we now need your help to make 2011 even bigger and better.<br /><br />We need your help to achieve this:<br /><br />· Please make your colleagues and partners aware that the nomination process for 2011 is now open. Nomination information can be found at: http://www.sportwales.org.uk/news--events/news--events/events-calendar/coach-of-the-year-awards-2011-.aspx.<br /><br />· We would like you to submit details of winners from your own sports awards to our national competition.<br /><br />· Work in your authority/sport to ensure that those who are going the extra mile are recognised with a nomination.<br /><br />· We have developed a web button for you to use on your websites which links through to the Coach of the Year page. A Guide of how to use the web buttons is attached.<br /><br />· The nomination process will close on Friday 23rd September 2011.<br /><br />Please note that the list of categories has been tweaked slightly, following feedback from last year’s event. This gave some of our up and coming stars from West Wales to train with the current top Welsh players like <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jac</span> Jenkins, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Callum</span> Evans, Dan O'Connell, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Yongbo</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">Zhang</span> and Ryan <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">Oyler</span>. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">Steffan</span> Griffiths (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span>), <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11" class="blsp-spelling-error">Tatsuki</span> Williams (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_12" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span>), Lawrence John (Swansea) and Marc Castro (Swansea) learnt a great deal of the current Welsh players. On the day the 4 kids also took the opportunity to watch <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_13" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Belgium</span> team PW <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_14" class="blsp-spelling-error">Diest</span> train with the Welsh Squad. The 4 boys also had a quick <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_15" class="blsp-spelling-error">multiball</span> session with National Coach Ryan Jenkins. It was a great day for the youngsters from West Wales not only to train with some top players but to watch how some of the best train.</div><div> </div><div>Great day all round!!!</div></div></div>
