Selected from West Wales were Harry Langley (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Penlan</span>), Thomas <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Heydon</span> (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Penlan</span>), <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Bethan</span> Lewis (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span>), <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Tatsuki</span> (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span>) and Niall Owen (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span>). The training camp gave the youngsters a chance not only to train with some of South West <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">Englands</span> finest youngsters but to take part in a full on training camp. The training started at 10am to 12:30pm then 1:15pm to 4pm with breaks <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-error">inbetween</span>. This was a prefect practice session for the youngsters leading up to the British Primary Schools that take place in Cardiff this weekend (1st of April to the 3rd). Good luck to you! In this weeks Premier Division Carmarthen ‘B’ improved their chances of avoiding relegation by defeating Penlan ‘E’ 27-8, Aled Rhys Howells winning 9-1. Penlan ‘B’ also boosted their chances of avoiding relegation after beating Carmarthen ‘C’ 21-14 with Josh Jenkins winning <br />9-2. Penyrheol ‘A’ defeated Carmarthen ‘A’ 25-11 thanks to Denis Bromage winning 9-1 and Peter Champion 9-2. Leaders Penlan ‘D’ easily beat Ammanford ‘A’ 30-6 while second place Penlan ‘A’ beat Penlan ‘C’ 26-11 with Ceri James winning 9-0 and Paul Karabadak 9-2.<br />Carmarthen ‘B’ defeated Penlan ‘B’ 24-15 thanks to Aled Rhys Howells winning 9-1.<br />In Division One Cam/Cabin ‘A’ defeated the leaders Ammanford ‘B’ 26-9 with Doug Smith winning 9-0 and Randel Sims 9-2. Carmarthen ‘D’ beat Port Talbot ‘D’ 24-12, Martyn Fenner winning 9-1 and Alan Griffiths 9-3. <br />Division Two has new leaders in the form of Penlan ‘L’ after they defeated Penyrheol ‘C’ 30-4.<br />Third place Carmarthen ‘F’ beat Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘A’ 22-17, the match was decided when Rob Clayton and John Finnemore won the doubles 3-1. Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ secured an impressive <br />27-3 victory over Penlan ‘J’ with Mary Wilkins and Gaynor Griffiths both winning 9-0.<br />Division Three has new leaders in the form of Port Talbot ‘D’ after they secured two victories, <br />First they defeated Friends of the Young Disabled ‘C’ 22-11 with Kean Pac winning 9-0, they then defeated last weeks leaders Penlan ‘N’ 18-14 thanks to Kean Pac winning 9-0.<br />Penlan ‘M’ narrowly defeated Carmarthen ‘G’ 17-16, the match was decided when Peter Langley and Peter Morse won the doubles 3-0, Peter Langley winning 9-0.

Swansea Closed 2011

The Junior event of the Swansea Closed took place tonight at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Morriston</span> Leisure Centre. In the under 11s event Mathew Francis from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Penlan</span> club won the event beating Niall Owen from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Carmarthen</span> 3-0 in the final. Mathews brother Alex was in the under 13s final playing practice partner Lawrence John also from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Penlan</span>. Pictured below from the left is Alex Francis, Mathew Francis, Betty Gray, Lawrence John and Niall Owen.
