Irish Duo Paul McCreery and Na Liu were champions at the Cardiff GP on Sunday. In the final Paul beat Welsh number 3 Steve Jenkins in a close 3-2 match. Steve was leading 2-1 in sets and 5-1 but Paul regained his composure to take the title and prize fund.
Steve beat Chinese star Yongbo Zhang 3-1 in the semis and Paul beat Steve Gertsen in the other. Stephen preformed out of his skin in the earlyer match and showed great CHARACTER to beat Wlesh ranked Number 4 Patrick Thomas. With Naomi Owen losing out in her semi 3-0 to Amanda Mogey, Na Liu took the title from her team mate 3-0 [9,6,4]. Liu beat Charlotte Carey in her semi final match.Paul made it a very successful weekend in winning the U21 category against Patrick Thomas. Patrick beat Ceri James and Paul beat Scott Cundy in the respective semi finals. The women's U21 was won by Emma Vickers against Charlotte Carey in a very close 3-2.
