This week saw the quarter finals of the Tudor Jones Cup which produced a thrilling match between third division Penlan ‘R’ and Premier Division leaders Penlan ‘B’. The match ebbed and flowed through the night to finally end in a 10-10 draw, James Lobb winning 4-2 for the ‘R’ side before teaming up with Kallum Clements to win the doubles 2-0 and secure a narrow victory, Kallum Clements and Paul Bamsey both providing very good support to James.                 Penlan ‘H’ also beat premier division opposition in the form of Ammanford ‘A’ by 11-3, Alison Cundy winning 4-0, Thomas Heydon 4-1 and Steven Coope 3-2. Penlan ‘N’ of the third division beat a depleted Penlan ‘G’ 13-9 thanks to Lewis Towell winning 6-2, Shankley Ismail and Bradley Abraham providing excellent support to Lewis, Tony Holt winning 5-2 for the losers.

In the Premier Division Penyrheol ‘A’ and Carmarthen ‘A’ fought out an exciting 22-22 draw.

With two games to be played Penyrheol held a narrow 18-16 lead, then Neil Hulme and Sven Severyns both won 3-2 to complete the come back for Carmarthen.

The First Division saw a close game between Carmarthen ‘C’ and Penlan ‘F’ resulting in a 22-17 victory for Carmarthen. Penlan started the stronger with Peter Andrews inflicting a rare defeat on the divisions leading player Martyn Fenner, Carmarthen trailed 14-10 after six games before storming back to win the last four matches and secure the victory. Rob Wilkins, Alan Griffiths and Martyn Fenner all contributed well for Carmarthen while Mark Haymer won 7-4 in vain for Penlan. Ammanford ‘B’ moved into second place after defeating Carmarthen ‘D’ by 27-12, Mike Towell leading the way winning 9-2. Penlan ‘H’ beat Carmarthen ‘D’ 27-14 with Thomas Heydon winning 9-1.

New leaders of Division Two are Penlan ‘K’ after they beat a depleted Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’  26-8. Cam Gears ‘C’ moved into third place after beating Penlan ‘L’ 24-12 with John Jones winning 9-2. Jerusalem Baptist Church fought out a 19-19 draw with Penlan ‘J’ for who Lawrence John won 9-3 before Jeff Wood and John Colwill won the doubles 3-1 to bring Jerusalem level. Port Talbot ‘A’ defeated Jerusalem Baptist Church 22-14 with James Prescott winning 9-1 and Bill Haddon 9-2. Jerusalem Baptist Church defeated Penlan ‘L’ 23-13, Jeff Wood and John Colwill both winning 9-1.

In Division Three second place Penlan ‘N’ beat Penlan ‘P’ 25-9 with Shankley Ismail winning 9-0 and Lewis Towell 9-2. Penlan ‘M’ moved into third place after they defeated Penyrheol ‘C’ 24-12, Matthew Francis winning 9-1.  Congratulations go to Penlan ‘P’ who recorded their first victory of the season after they beat Blaen-y-Maes ‘B’ 24-12 with Adam Walters and David John both winning 9-2. Penlan ‘R’ beat Blaen-y-Maes ‘B’ 30-6.
