Swansea League

With the top two teams in the Premier League not playing Penlan ‘C’ took advantage to go top of the league after defeating Penlan ‘B’ 24-17 with Martin Gunn winning 9-1. Ammanford ‘A’ beat Penlan ‘E’ 28-6, Mike Rees and Nigel Stopher both winning 9-1. Penyrheol ‘A’ recorded their first win of the season by defeating Carmarthen ‘C’ 24-14 thanks to Paul Booth winning 9-3. Carmarthen ‘A’ beat Carmarthen ‘B’ 24-17 despite John Finnemore putting in a fine performance winning 7-4 for the losers.
In Division One Penlan ‘G’ defeated Cam/Cabin ‘B’ 21-15 to move to the top of the table, Jonathon Francis winning 9-2 and Ben Mora 9-4. The previous leaders Ammanford ‘B’ were beaten 25-7 by Cam/Cabin ‘A’ for who Doug Smith won 9-0. Llanelli defeated Penyrheol ‘B’ 27-7 with Alan Pattle and Steve Davies both winning 9-0. Carmarthen ‘D’ beat Port Talbot ‘A’ 27-11, Martyn Fenner winning 9-1.
Division Two has new leaders in the form of Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘A’ after defeating Port Talbot ‘B’ 23-18 despite Carl Miles winning 9-3 for the losers. Penlan ‘J’ narrowly defeated Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ 19-16, the match being decided when Liam Ferro and Michael Johns won the doubles 3-1, Liam Ferro winning 9-0. Penyrheol ‘C’ beat Penlan ‘K’ 22-15, John Davies winning 9-2 for the losers. Carmarthen ‘E’ maintained their challenge by defeating Jerusalem Baptist Church 24-11 with Simon Packer and Andrew Joules both winning 9-1.
