This week saw The Tudor Jones Cup take centre stage. The closest match of the round saw Penlan ‘G’ defeat Ammanford ‘B’ 12-11 in a thrilling game which was decided when Jonathon Francis and Ben Mora won the final doubles 2-1, best performance was Syd Bryce winning 6-0 for the losers. Another close match saw Carmarthen ‘E’ beat Penlan ‘N’ 11-9, this match was decided when Paul Joules won the last game 2-0, Simon Packer and Andrew Joules both winning 4-2. Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ secured a narrow 11-7 victory over Port Talbot ‘B’ thanks to Gaynor Griffiths winning 6-1. Penlan ‘K’ beat Carmarthen ‘D’ 15-6 with John Davies winning 6-0, Liam Ford 5-3 and Frank Smallwood 4-3. Penlan ‘M’ made the most of their handicap by defeating Penlan ‘L’ 12-7, Peter Langley winning 6-0.
In Division One second place Cam/Cabin ‘A’ suffered a 22-16 defeat at the hands of Penyrheol ‘B’ for who Daniel Moore won 9-3. Penlan ‘G’ moved into third place after defeating Penlan ‘H’ 27-9 with Max Clews winning 9-0 and Ben Mora 9-1. Carmarthen ‘D’ beat Friends of the Young Disabled ‘A’ 21-16 thanks to Rob Wilkins winning 9-3.
In Division Two Dillwyn Llewelyn narrowly defeated Penlan ‘L’ 21-20 with the match hanging in the balance until the final doubles game which Nick Couling and Andrew James lost 3-2 but they did enough to secure the victory, Steven Coope winning 9-2 for the losers. Carmarthen ‘E’ maintained their challenge by beating Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ 29-9.
In Division Three Carmarthen ‘G’ beat Friends of the Young Disabled ‘B’ 21-16, Joe Rosie and Saul Anthony winning the final doubles game 3-0 to secure the victory, Chris Donovan winning
9-2 for the losers.
