Newly crowned
Premier Division champions Penlan ‘B’ maintained their unbeaten record by
beating Ammanford ‘A’ 28-11, Ceri James winning 9-1 and Neil Page 9-3. Penlan
‘D’ virtually clinched second place after defeating Penyrheol ‘A’ 28-9 with
Martin Gunn winning 9-1 and Matt Lancey 9-3. Third place Penlan ‘A’ beat Penlan
‘E’ 21-15 thanks to Scott Cundy winning 9-2 and Daniel Moore 9-3. Carmarthen ‘B’ beat Penlan ‘C’ 21-14 with Jason Peckham
winning 9-2. Cam Gears ‘A’ beat Carmarthen ‘A’
22-19, Natasha Rees winning 9-2 to give them hope of avoiding relegation. A
special mention for youngster Thomas Heydon who stepped up a division to play
for Penlan ‘B’ winning 7-6 and also for Penlan ‘E’ recording figures of 6-6.
In Division One
second place Carmarthen ‘C’ beat Carmarthen
‘E’ 23-19 with Martin Fenner winning 9-3 and Alan Griffiths 8-6. Penlan ‘H’ scored
a narrow 20-17 victory over Carmarthen ‘E’
thanks to Tony Holt who won 9-2.
Division Two has new
leaders in the form of Cam Gears ‘C’ after they beat Jerusalem Baptist
Church 26-9 with John
Jones winning 9-1,Trevor Francis 8-4 and Malcolm Davies 6-3.
Tata Port Talbot ‘A’
fought out an exciting 19-19 draw with Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘A’, Bill Haddon
winning 9-3 to put Port Talbot one game in front with the doubles to play which
Nick Couling and Andrew James won 3-2 to secure the draw for Dillwyn Llewelyn.
In Division Three
Blaen-y-Maes ‘A’ moved top of the table after two wins and a draw, they
defeated Penyrheol ‘C’ 30-4 and then beat Blaen-y-Maes ‘B’ 30-10 with
impressive performances from Tony Averis, Andrew Agnew and Dewi Morris. Finally
Blaen-y-Maes ‘A’ and Penyrheol ‘B’ fought out a 19-19 draw, Tony Averis and
Chris Donavon winning the final doubles 3-2 to secure the draw for
Blaen-y-Maes, Alex Hopkins winning 7-5 for Penyrheol.
Blaen-y-Maes ‘B’
narrowly beat Penyrheol ‘C’ 21-18 thanks to Alex Clement who won the last game
3-2 to secure the victory. Penlan ‘M’ beat Penlan ‘N’ 23-19, Matthew Francis
winning 9-0 before teaming up with Peter Morse to win the final doubles match
3-2 to give Penlan ‘M’ a narrow victory. Penlan ‘P’ narrowly defeated
Blaen-y-Maes ‘B’ 22-19 thanks to Adam Walters who won the last game 3-2 giving
him match figures of 9-2. Penlan ‘N’ beat Penyrheol ‘C’ 27-7 with Shankley
Ismail winning 9-0 and Lewis Towell 8-3.
