LAWRENCE JOHN FROM PENLAN TABLE TENNIS CLUB COMPETED IN CREW IN THE BTTAD (BRITISH TABLE TENNIS ASSOCIATION FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES) BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS.
IN THE JUNIORS HE WAS SUCCESSFUL IN HIS CLASS 6-10 HE DEFEATED NEIL INNES IN A 3-1 VICTORY TO TAKE THE JUNIOR TITLE. HE ALSO PLAYED IN THE MENS CLASS 6-10 REACHING THE SEMI FINAL IN HIS FIRST EVER BRITISH DISABLED TABLE TENNIS COMPETITION.
LYDIA JOHN AND ANNA HURSEY 9 (PENLAN TTC MEMBERS) TO WIN 2 TITLES IN THE WELSH UNDER 11'S AND UNDER 13'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE WIS SPOHIA GARDENS CARDIFF.
Lydia John also won bronze in the girls singles of the BRITISH PRIMARY SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS losing out to eventual winner Kate Whelan 3-0. Victoria Brookes and Cade Short both made it through their qualification groups to the main draw.
