In the recent Burton tournament on this occasion only Harry Langley made the long journey up to compete.
In the Burton U11s Harry was drawn into a really tough group of 4, including the eventual winner Tom McCulloch a highly ranked English player. Harry lost to Tom in the group but played some excellent attacking table tennis and went on to defeat the other 2 boys 3-2 and 3-0. Harry continued his fine form and cruised into the semi-final after a 3-0 victory in the quarters. In the semi final he faced Sam Walsh, a player he had beaten in a close encounter at a previous tournament. Sam played some great table tennis and took a 2 set lead before Harry stepped up a gear and pulled a set back. The four set was fantastic with both players trading some great shots bringing lots of applause from the watching crowd with Sam eventually taking it 11-9 and winning the match.
In the U13s Harry didn't progress through his group but again played really well and enjoyed the experience of playing against the older players.
Well done Harry!!
