As the season draws to an end the Premier Division is set to be settled when the top two sides Penlan ‘D’ and Penlan ‘A’ lock horns next weekend, a win for the ‘D’ side will guarantee them the title. At the other end of the table Carmarthen ‘A’ look like joining Penlan ‘E’ in the relegation places.
In Division One Cam/Cabin ‘B’ finished their season with a 23-18 victory over Ammanford ‘B’ with Gareth Evans winning 9-2, however they were beaten 20-19 by Cam/Cabin ‘A’ despite Gareth Evans winning 9-3. These two matches see Cam/Cabin ‘B’ currently top of the division but Penlan ‘G’ with three games to play look certain to be crowned champions. Third place Cam/Cabin ‘A’ defeated Port Talbot ‘A’ 23-13 with Doug Smith winning 9-2. Llanelli recorded two victories, firstly they beat Port Talbot ‘A’ 28-8, Tony Tappin winning 9-0 and Alan Pattle 9-3, they then defeated Penlan ‘H’ 23-16 despite John Jones winning 9-4 for the losers.
A very important match took place in Division Two between the two Carmarthen sides which saw the ‘E’ team take a large step towards the title by defeating the ‘F’ side 25-13, the win was set up by Andrew Joules with an impressive 9-1 victory, Simon Packer won 8-4 and Paul Joules added important games by winning 6-5. This leaves the two sides second and third in the table.
Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ finished their season on a high note by beating Penyrheol ‘C’ 20-14, Mary Wilkins leading the way winning 8-3, Graham Rees winning 9-2 for the losers.
In Division Three second place Penlan ‘N’ finished their season in style by defeating Friends of the Young Disabled ‘D’ 30-2 with Lawrence John winning 9-0, Mar and Marc Castro both winning 9-1. This leaves third place Ty Gwyn an up hill task in their last two matches to finish in second place.
