This week saw the Fourth Round of the Tudor Jones Cup take centre stage, of which three of the matches saw the lower placed teams prevail. Dillwyn Llewelyn ‘B’ beat Penlan ‘K’ 11-6 in a closely fought encounter which saw Mary Wilkins lead the way winning 6-0. Third division Ty Gwyn made the most of their handicap to defeat Carmarthen ‘F’ 14-9 with Selim Aydin winning 6-1 and Arun Rai 6-2. The last Premier Division representatives Penlan ‘C’ were beaten 12-7 by Penlan ‘G’, Max Clews winning 6-1, Ben Mora 4-2 and young Alex Francis chipping in with an all important victory. Penlan ‘M’ beat Second Division leaders Carmarthen ‘E’ 13-6, Peter Langley winning 6-0 with able support from Peter Morse and young Matthew Francis.
In Division One second place Cam/Cabin ‘A’ beat Carmarthen ‘D’ 26-20 thanks to Doug Smith winning 9-4 and David Davies 9-5. Third place Cam/Cabin ‘B’ maintained their challenge by defeating Penlan ‘H’ 27-10 with Gareth Evans winning 9-0 and Martin Evans 9-2.
In Division Three Ty Gwyn maintained their challenge by defeating Friends of the Young Disabled ‘B’ 27-7, Arun Rai winning 9-0 and Selim Aydin 9-3. Carmarthen ‘G’ narrowly defeated Friends of the Young Disabled ‘B’ 21-16, the match was decided when Joe Rosie and Saul Anthony won the doubles 3-0, Chris Donavon winning 9-2 for the losers.
