This week saw the start of the Premier Division where the current champions Penlan ‘A’ got off to a winning start defeating Carmarthen ‘C’ 25-8 thanks to Ceri James winning 9-0. Penlan ‘D’ beat Penyrheol ‘A’ 27-4 with Lee Morgan winning 9-0 and Scott Cundy 9-1. Newly promoted Carmarthen ‘A’ started well by defeating Penlan ‘E’ 26-12, Sven Severyns and Jeff Parsons both winning 9-2. Penlan ‘C’ narrowly beat Carmarthen ‘B’ 23-17 with Martin Gunn leading the way winning 9-1. Closest math of the week saw Penlan ‘B’ gain a 21-20 victory over Ammanford ‘A’with Josh Jenkins winning 9-3, the match was settled when Josh Jenkins and Luke Lyons won the doubles 3-2, Ammanfords Nigel Stopher winning 8-5.
Division One leaders Penlan ‘G’ maintained their impressive start to the season by defeating second placed Ammanford ‘B’ 24-13 for who Nigel Stopher won 8-5. Cam/Cabin ‘B’ remain unbeaten after beating Penlan ‘F’ 28-9 with Graham Butler winning 9-2 and Martin Jenkins 9-3. Carmarthen ‘D’ maintained their challenge with a 25-12 victory over Penyrheol ‘B’, Martyn Fenner winning 9-1 and Rob Wilkins 9-2. Llanelli narrowly defeated Friends of the Young Disabled ‘A’ 22-20 thanks to Alan Pattle and Derek Summers winning the doubles 3-0, Michael Cullen winning 8-3 for the losers. Penlan ‘F’ defeated Port Talbot ‘A’ 27-12 with Tony Holt winning 9-0.
Division Two leaders Penlan ‘K’ surrendered their unbeaten record losing 19-16 to Carmarthen ‘E’, Simon Packer winning 9-4, the match was decided when Simon Packer and Andrew Joules won the doubles 3-0. Carmarthen ‘F’ beat Penyrheol ‘C’ 27-13 with John Finnemore winning 9-2. Port Talbot ‘B’ beat Penlan ‘J’ 26-10, Tammy Jones winning 9-3.
Division Three leaders Penlan ‘N’ beat Port Talbot ‘C’ 23-14, Jonathan Evans winning 9-3 for the losers. Penyrheol ‘D’ moved into second place after defeating Friends of the Young Disabled ‘C’ 23-13, Andrew Agnew winning 9-3 for the losers. Port Talbot ‘D’ defeated Penlan ‘M’22-11 with But Wong and Kean Pac both winning 9-1.
